"Beautiful scenery, scenic roads, steep climbs and descents make it the toughest marathon in Italy."
Leonardo Trulli Marathon was born from the desire to make our territory known to sportsmen.
We are convinced that this territory is perfect for doing sports, thanks to its rich and extremely varied territory.
Active tourism, as are running and cycling, are the best way to discover our beauties and to experience them in the most intense way.
Furthermore, for us operators, sport represents an important opportunity to season tourism by making the beauty of the area live even in seasons such as autumn and spring, when the climate is excellent and nature is at its core. maximum splendor
Our landscape and our roads surrounded by greenery are the ideal setting for experiencing unique and unforgettable events.
The hospitality of our districts does the rest, making tourists feel at home
If last year, the zero edition was reserved for a small number of subscribers, this year, with the easing of the pandemic, it is expected to reach large numbers of participants, thanks above all to the inclusion of the distance of the Half Marathon, a popular goal for runners.
We therefore expect a truly exclusive edition.
You will run along a fascinating and panoramic route, crossing the village of Locorotondo (one of the most beautiful villages in Italy), and many of its districts.
The 21k track (to be covered twice) is very technical, with continuous ups and downs that make the race lively and sometimes tough with about 500 meters of total altitude difference.
There will be refreshments every 5 kilometers and a final refreshment. Unlike the last year, the Organization intends to give greater resonance to the city of Locorotondo by starting all three distances from the city center, thus giving the possibility of involving citizens and local activities, as well as contributing to making the beauties of the village known to the world of runners and induced tourism.
